Put the IP address of the HC in the URL bar.

There are a couple of ways to embed the Program Guide information in a website:

  1. If you want to embed the HyperCaster widget, which can include a search function, clickable calendar, and (where applicable) a Watch Now link:hcprogramguide
    1. In your HyperCaster, navigate to Config → Scheduling → External Schedule.
      1. There you can select whether or not to show the Sidebar (with month calendar) or Next Air Date.
      2. hcexternalskedSave
    2. Then navigate to your Dashboard
      1. Click on the External Schedule link under the selected channel
      2. Copy that link
    3. In your web page editor, Embed the External Schedule in an iframe (where xxxxx is your HyperCaster IP address, and # is the channel number):
  2. If your website CMS can parse an RSS feed:
    1. In your HyperCaster, navigate to Config → Scheduling → InfoVue Schedule XML
      1. The Feed Builder gives you options to define the RSS feed by number of events, channel, category, start time, end time, etc.hcfeedbuilder
      2. As you make your choices, you will see the URL being generated in the lower field.
      3. Click on the Copy icon to copy that URL, or on “Go” to open it in your browser.

If you want to hide certain programs from the external schedule or RSS feed:

  • When creating/editing categories (Config -> Categories) there is an option to “Include in guide?”.
  • Any content that is in a category where “Include in guide?” is “No” will be excluded from display on any external schedule or RSS feed.

The NTP message is generally benign as this controls time drift (which changes very slowly in the event none of the servers are available). This is not a major factor unless you have many devices that should be synced to the same source that start drifting visibly.

The TelVue server will round robin other servers if certain ones are not available. For the most part, this is an informational email unless you see any major time drift in the web interface of the server.

Since many of the NTP servers used in production are public, they will go down for maintenance at random times. The error will warning will typically clear on it’s own within a 24 hour period.

If you get an error message saying that the event did not play because the following variables could not be populated –
&CURRENT_PROGRAM, &CURRENT_EPISODE” – it could be that those fields have no metadata in them.

You must have the metadata filled out from the edit content page. The variables in the overlay draw from this information to fill in these fields.

You cannot change the password for psguser when using ftp.
